The Bruery – Saison De Lente LIVE BLOG

I’m here at the Lazy Ox in Downtown LA and my buddy Bill just tapped a keg of The Bruery Saison De Lente.

Pours a cloudy yellow with a bit of head and a good amount of lace. The aroma has a strong citrus note with a bit of yeast and a hint of green apple. Very crisp and effervescent start with a yeasty flavor and a slight sour note. Finishes with a dry yeasty flavor.

Overall this is a really good saison with just the right balance of yeast and fruit flavors. The only negative comment I would make is that the kind of wheaty aftertaste lingers for a bit to long in my opinion. That and the cost, but almost everything from The Bruery is on the more expensive side (and usually justifiably so). This beer is only available from March to May, so if you happen to miss out there is always next year.
