September Events

September 2012 brings us a number of great events in LA, including Tour De Fat and LA Beer Week! I’LL keep this updated as I hear about new happenings. Food GPS Presents L.A. Beer Float Showdown 4

“Food GPS presents the fourth annual L.A. Beer Float Showdown on Saturday, September 29, at Golden Road Brewing in Atwater Village. Five teams of top L.A. chefs and local breweries will collaborate to create the ultimate beer float. Each team will prepare a beer float, and every attendee gets a vote, keeping in mind flavor, originality and presentation. Better yet, 10% of proceeds benefit The Pablove Foundation, a local organization that fights childhood cancer. The event is on Saturday, September 29, from 2 pm – 5 pm. General Admission Tickets cost $35 per person, including five floats, and a savory treat from Golden Road Brewing. $45 VIP tickets entitle attendees to all of the above, plus early admission at 1 pm, a special Golden Road beer, and a glass to keep.

LA Beer Week 4th Annual Festival

“Our 4th Annual LA Beer Week Beer Festival will take place at Historic Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, September 30th, from Noon-4pm. The Festival will feature over 70 local, regional, national, and international Craft and Artisan breweries, pouring a wide array of their beers, including a special few available only for LA Beer Week. On hand will be a selection of the famous Los Angeles food trucks, offering their specialties to pair with the variety of beers on hand. Union Station offers plenty of parking in its underground garage, but why drive when you can take the safe and easy route by train! Union Station is served by the Red, Blue, Purple, and Gold Lines, as well as Amtrak and Metrolink. We strongly encourage you to take the train or other local public transportation…its safe, easy, and responsible. Pre-sale Tickets are $50, and includes unlimited 4 oz. pours of beer.

“September 22nd may technically be the start of Fall, but here in LA we admittedly won’t notice the change of seasons. We invite you to join us at the ‘Better Weather Fest’ to help kick off LA Beer Week, and celebrate the creativity and culture that surrounds us. The event will be held at our brewery in Atwater Village, and we will be celebrating our first year, this year’s release of Burning Bush Smoked IPA, and our new brewery and restaurant expansions. Festival goers will be able to enjoy craft beers from a number of breweries throughout the Golden Road grounds, tour the new facilities, order eats from food trucks or at our Pub, and relax to the beats of multiple music offerings. Tickets are $30 before September 20th, and $40 at the door; each attendee will receive a commemorative Better Weather Fest glass and drink tickets good for five 6oz. pours. Tickets for additional 6 oz pours will be available for purchase at the event for $3 each. Designated driver tickets are $15. ALL attendees will receive a special gift at the gate, and the first 500 people to buy tickets online will receive a special goodie bag!”
