It’s no secret that I love coffee. So when I heard that Intelligentsia Coffee in Pasadena was throwing a special coffee beer tasting, I got very excited. Then I saw the line up. Needless to say, if you are a fan of coffee beers this is a can not miss event.
Taking place at Intelligentsia’s Pasadena store on Colorado Blvd. Saturday October 19th at 7pm, this event promises to take you on a journey of how coffee and beer have found themselves forever intertwined. There will be a panel discussion with representatives from Three Floyds, Solemn Oath, Lost Abbey, Stone, Firestone Walker, Angel City, and Goose Island. During the talk, tasters from a variety of styles, processes, and formulations of coffee beers will be poured that represent both the benchmarks and the future of the art. But what you all really want to know is which beers these are, so here’s the line up:
Goose Island Bourbon County Coffee Stout
Firestone Walker Parabajava
Angel City White Nite, a white coffee porter
Eagle Rock Stimulus (as well as a surprise beer and espresso concoction)
Vintages of Three Floyds Dark Lord Imperial Stout (2007 – 2011)
Solemn Oath None More Black
Lost Abbey Board Meeting Brown Ale
Stone 15th Anniversary Escondidian Imperial Black IPA with Espresso
So, at this point, you’ve just read that they will be pouring 5 vintages of Dark Lord… So now you’re asking how do I get in. Well sadly it’s gonna cost you. Tickets are $95 a head, which for what you’re getting isn’t that bad a deal. So if you are a die-hard coffee beer fan, I’ll see you there.
Beer Guy LA knows that everybody loves discounts, so I’ve got a $45 coupon for this event. Just enter the code COFFEELOVESBEER and the ticket price will drop to $50.
