LA Beer Hop

I recently had the pleasure of taking a night out with the LA Beer Hop and wanted to share my experience with everyone here.

For those who have not seen Hal Mooney and his special short bus around town, LA Beer Hop is a 15 seat charter bus with a love for craft beer. LA Beer Hop provides beer tours of different parts of LA on the weekends, like the Beach Cities tour that hits Strand Brewing, El Segundo Brewing, and Monkish, longer getaways, like Las Vegas and Palm Springs, and private events. The key advantage the Beer Hop bus has over other forms of transportation is having the opportunity to drink on the bus and the wealth of knowledge Hal has to offer about the various beers and brewers. Just imagine how nice it would be to travel to Las Vegas without having to be the driver and getting to enjoy your favorite craft beer.

LA Beer Hop has also been offering a once a month Wednesday night bar hop between Tony’s Darts Away, The Pub at Golden Road, and Mohawk Bend. This service runs from 7:00PM starting at Mohawk Bend and runs till everyone makes it back to their bar of origin. Included in your all night ride ticket, you also get $4 Golden Road beer specials at each of the bars. All this for the low low price of only $5!

I decided to try out the LA Beer Hop on one of their bar hops and very much enjoyed the experience. The bus got to Tony’s promptly at 7:30PM and as soon as everyone got their tickets we were off to Golden Road. The bus was clean and the ride was as smooth as can be expected in LA. The bus has a nice sound system which the riders can choose to let Hal be the DJ or plug in their own music. We brought along some bottles to share along the ride and to share with new friends, which we were able to leave in the buses cooler while at our various destinations.

As much as I love these three bars, it was great being able to get some variety in my drinking options without having to get in my own car. The service definitely caters towards people who live close to these three establishments, but can also be enjoyed by those willing to pace themselves through the night as well.
